LabyrinthsThis website presents simulations of a stroll through two famous labyrinths: Chartres in France and Lucca in Italy. While the word 'stroll' is suitable in the case of the relatively large labyrinth on the floor of the cathedral in Chartres, it is inappropriate for the small labyrinth of Lucca, which is located on a stone column. Pilgrims use their index finger rather than their feet to move through the Lucca labyrinth. Our computerized simulations of the Chartres and Lucca structures require a minimum of time and concentration, but it is not unduly difficult to move inwards to the heart of each labyrinth. |
